My name is Fredrik Öhman, and I am a clinical neuropsychologist and a Ph.D. student at the University of Gothenburg. Besides my clinical work at the Gothenburg memory clinic, I study cognition and biomarkers in the Molecular Neuroimaging Group at the University of Gothenburg.
My research focus includes:
Digital cognitive biomarkers
I study smartphone-based cognitive assessments, which allow for repeated and longitudinal testing in a remote and unsupervised setting. We explore whether these instruments can rapidly identify and track subtle cognitive change at the preclinical stage of Alzheimer's disease, cost-effectively and with high sensitivity. To this end, we use biomarkers derived from imaging modalities such as positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as well as biomarkers based on the analysis of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) or blood.
